Dr. Chad Carlson joined The Bone & Joint Center in 2011. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with additional fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery.
He specializes in the treatment of common and complex problems of the foot and ankle, including ankle arthroplasty/replacement, bunions, hammertoes, painful flat feet, diabetic reconstruction, sports injuries, arthroscopy, and complex deformity.
He is also interested in traumatic injuries of the upper and lower extremities, knee arthroplasty, and knee arthroscopy. Dr. Carlson sees patients of all ages and those who have had previous surgical interventions. He is frequently consulted for second opinions. Surgical and nonsurgical management options are always discussed.
Dr. Carlson works with multiple specialists throughout the country. As a native of North Dakota, he is committed to providing outstanding care for patients in the Upper Midwest.

EDUCATION & TRAINING:
A native of Lansford, North Dakota, Dr. Chad Carlson received his bachelor of science from the University of North Dakota. He attended medical school at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences, where he received his doctor of medicine degree.
Following medical school, he spent an additional five years of training at the Spectrum Health/Michigan State University Orthopaedic Surgery Residency program in Grand Rapids. He subsequently completed a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at South County Orthopaedic Specialists in Orange County, California.
